4 years ago, I suddenly started having acne breakouts. I’ve never had any acne problems even while in high school so it was surprising and disappointing to me. I went to the dermatologist but they weren’t able to treat my condition and my acne never resolved. While getting treatments from the dermatologist, I had a fall from my bicycle and started getting pain everywhere – literally all my joints were aching, it was horrible.

I went to see my doctor and he told me that I had fibromyalgia. I started getting treated for this condition but I started getting edematous in my limbs and gaining so much weight. I had stretch marks all over my body because my weight increased so drastically at once with the edema. I went to see another doctor and I was diagnosed with SLE kidneys(lupus). I had no idea what this disease was and needless to say, very discouraged. I started taking prescription steroids for the lupus and had to restrict my exposure to the sun drastically. The steroids definitely didn’t help with the weight gain and made me put on more pounds than before.

Despite the weight gain, my condition seemed to stabilize for a little bit until. I went to college. I started noticing the same symptoms again but this time, I was introduced to Dr. Cho and sought out a different treatment approach instead.

I started getting acupuncture at least once a week and started taking the herbal formulas right away. Years after the first signs and symptoms, I’ve finally found a treatment that works and doesn’t give me harsh side effects. My acne is gone and my overall condition is great. I’m most happy about the weight loss!! Dr. Cho has also been able to get rid of my chronic constipation and PMS symptoms. Every time during my period, I used to get cramps in my calves and I haven’t had those symptoms for my last three cycles!

I haven’t completely stopped taking the steroid medication, but I’m optimistic. Dr. Cho recommended that I see her for six months so I’ve been doing so and I feel great so far!
